Build it up

Description

New Wave Pyramid is a typography-based game inspired by the design evolution of the Swiss Punk movement led by Wolfgang Weingart’s structured black-and-white designs to April Greiman’s grid-defying colorful designs. Every angle honors the two main designers who embraced exploring typographic meaning and unconventional design methods which can be observed from all angles.

Overall, the design approach for this project represents a bold and unconventional approach to graphic design that emphasizes experimentation, interactivity, and creativity. By incorporating playful elements and challenging traditional design practices, the design creates a memorable and engaging experience for viewers.

Process

One of the key elements of the design is the pyramid shape, which acts as a vessel to contain the typographic and visual elements of the movement. This shape not only adds a three-dimensional aspect to the design, but also symbolizes the movement's focus on breaking away from conventional design practices and exploring new ideas and possibilities.

The design approach for this project is both innovative and playful, incorporating an interactive element through the use of paper and magnets. By creating a game-like experience for viewers, the design engages the audience in a unique and memorable way. Drawing inspiration from the Swiss Punk design movement, the design approach challenges traditional notions of typography and layout. By focusing on experimental layouts, the design creates a sense of dynamism and energy that reflects the spirit of the movement.
