Description

Daniel Arsham is a contemporary visual artist whose works exist in between art, architecture, and design. Arsham reinterprets existing materials and shapes them into surreal decayed sculptures he refers to as Future Relics. The name is the guiding source of inspiration to create a limited edition art book based on Arsham’s work.

Process

The packaging is a work of art in itself, featuring Arsham's sculpture "Hidden Figure," which depicts a man extruding from a wall. Upon opening the book, readers are treated to spreads that are thoughtfully divided into collections, each of which highlights Arsham's extensive career, from his groundbreaking Future Relic collection to his collaboration with the fashion house Dior in 2019.

The book is thoughtfully presented in a sleek and minimalist white box, complete with a magnetic flap, meticulously crafted to replicate the distinctive packaging and design aesthetic synonymous with Arsham's work. Every element of the packaging has been designed and handmade, using white cardboard, and precisely measured to ensure a flawless fit for the accompanying coffee table book. The attention to detail in replicating the look and feel of an authentic Arsham piece is a testament to the artist and his creations. The end result is a fitting tribute to Arsham's unique and visionary style.

About
Atima Ng is a graphic designer based in Montreal. Her focus is on developing brand identities with a passion for creating visual experiences. Her approach is centered around creating contrast in all her projects, whether it be through the use of colour, typography, or animation.

Atima currently works at Square as a Visual Designer. She is a graduate of Concordia University, where she completed her bachelor's degree in Design in 2023, building on the knowledge and experience she gained from her DEC in Graphic Design at Dawson College in 2020. Throughout her academic journey, she worked with several non-profit organizations, including Sticky Rice Magazine and ASFA Concordia, where she engaged in various graphic design, web design, and photography projects aimed at promoting interculturalism within the Montreal community.

Over the years, Atima has worked with a diverse range of clients across the Culture, Tech, and Fashion industries. Her goal is to continue working as a graphic designer and art director, helping brands to elevate their identity and effectively communicate their message to their target audience.
